Commentary on Motorcycle, Truck Accident on 52nd Avenue in Fargo

If it's true that the truck driver here failed to yield, that's pretty clearly a mistake. But as damning as that may sound, folks need to understand there really are no simple or straight-forward wrecks when it comes to commercial vehicles. Insurance companies and trucking companies go to great effort to avoid responsibility, and they have plenty of strategies victims and families need to be able to anticipate and overcome.

For example, a lot of people are biased against motorcyclists, which companies can use to their advantage. They can try to paint the victim as being a reckless driver who was already putting themselves in danger. Even if they have no evidence for this, such claims can prove challenging unless countered properly.

That's why I do what I can to inform people about these challenges so they can seek out the professionals and the tools necessary to get the help they deserve. Are those steps being taken here?
