Brittany Knighton Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident in Milam County, TX

Milam County, TX -- September 30, 2022, Brittany Knighton was killed and a man was injured after an accident where two cars crashed.

Authorities indicated that the crash took place in the afternoon hours of Friday along US Highway 79 near Milano and Guase.

Initial details say that 28-yar-old Brittany Knighton was in a Chevy Cobalt traveling westbound on the highway. It appears the Chevy somehow lost control and went into oncoming lanes. There, Knighton's vehicle crashed with an oncoming Toyota Corolla.

Knighton succumbed to fatal injuries due to the crash, officials say. The other driver was said to have serious injuries. No further information is available at this time.

They see someone's vehicle cross the center line and just assume that driver was being reckless. As common as things like distraction and speeding are, it's crucial there be investigations into other possible factors. Some may remember the GM ignition switch defect from years ago. Reports say over a hundred people died, and the public had no idea why for years. It took independent investigators connecting the dots to get those families the closure they deserved. The same steps may prove necessary here, as well.
