Commentary on Bryan Negrete Accident in San Antonio

Almost every time I see a crash like this, I soon come across readers speculating about all the ways it could be the driver's fault. Comment sections fill with guesses about speeding or inattention as fingers are pointed at cell phone use or even impairment taking a driver's focus away; of course, none of those commenters feel any particular need to wait for pesky things like evidence or a finished investigation.

It's not that they're wrong about some possible factors that need looking into, but it's certainly not right to jump to conclusions or take anything for granted. It's always important to consider all the possible variables; anything from a brief distraction to a serious medical emergency to a major mechanical failure or defect in the vehicle could have been behind this tragic incident, so it's best to keep an open mind and make sure experienced professionals are the ones connecting the dots. Will the necessary steps be taken here to ensure the victim's loved ones get the answers they deserve?
