Woman Killed in Truck Hit-and-run Accident on I-55 in Collinsville, IL

Collinsville, IL -- October 1, 2022, a woman was killed following an accident where a truck hit her on I-55, then left the scene.

Authorities indicated that the incident happened at around 8:50 p.m. along I-55 near mile marker 8.

It appears that a woman was along southbound lanes of I-55 outside of a disabled vehicle. While returning to the vehicle, authorities say, a commercial truck hit the woman. That truck continued driving and left the scene.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she later died. No further information about the accident is available at this time.
