Dallas, TX -- March 28, 2022, Karen Panana and another person were injured after an accident where multiple cars crashed.

Investigators said that the incident happened at the intersection of Frankford Road and Marsh Lane at around 9:30 p.m.

According to officials, 48-yeear-old Karen Panana was in a Volkswagen Passat traveling westbound on Frankford. A southbound vehicle apparently disregarded the light, hitting Panana's vehicle. This sent Panana's vehicle into another vehicle on the eastbound side of Frankford.

Panana and another woman in the Volkswagen were said to have incapacitating injuries while another passenger's injuries were said to be non-incapacitating. No one else appeared to be injured, officials say.

Commentary on Karen Panana Car Accident in Dallas

This may be nothing, but I learned throughout my thirty year career to never let go of a gut feeling until there is clear evidence one way or another. What stands out to me is that all the injuries here were apparently in the same vehicle. That isn't exactly unusual, but it can sometimes be a sign that something was wrong with that vehicle.

Did the seatbelts work? Did airbags go off? Was the vehicle inadequate at absorbing or deflecting the impact as should be the standard of a modern vehicle? Likely or not, it's important to consider these possibilities if people are going to get the help they need. I see no reason why this crash would be an exception to that.
