It appears that a fuel tanker finished a fuel delivery at the station. What followed is not clear at this time. Photos appear to show the fuel tanker across both lanes of Hyde Park, and a van crashed into the side of the trailer.

Two people in the van were taken to area hospitals with unspecified injuries. Right now, additional details are unavailable.

Commentary on Fuel Tanker Truck Accident on Hyde Park in Boston

I certainly can't say what happened here, but given what I can find of this location, I don't see how this truck could have had the right-of-way. While that wouldn't necessarily absolve the truck driver, it's important to understand that the facts are only a piece of the puzzle. Using those facts is another challenge entirely.

Put simply, police could have come out and said this truck driver was reckless and cut off the van, and it things still wouldn't be open-and-shut. That's because trucking companies have teams of professionals dedicating to avoiding responsibility. It could be as simple as saying the van was speeding or didn't have their headlights on--both of which are indeed possible, and I've seen it happen. More often, though, these explanations are little more than attempts to shift the blame. Victims and families need to be prepared for these hurdles, and that means having the allies and the evidence to overcome them.
