Commentary on Holly Doran Alleged DWI Accident in New Braunfels

Texas has a well known issue with drunk driving, yet after crashes like the one described here, folks don't always know what comes next. If the allegations are true, it can certainly mean a drunk driver getting a day in court. But what about the victims and families? How do they get the help they need? Well, one crucial tool to consider is dram shop law.

Holly Doran Injured in Alleged DWI Accident in New Braunfels, TX

Essentially, dram shop law says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. Bars, liquor stores, gas stations, restaurants--if they break the law, and people get hurt, they, too, should face the appropriate consequences. The fact families can use dram shop to see that happen and to potentially get some much needed help only makes it more important they seek out professionals who can guide them through the process. It remains to be seen if steps like that were taken here.
