Stephanie Hamm, Anna Hamm Injured in Truck Accident in Hannibal, MO

Hannibal, MO -- September 20, 2022, Stephanie Hamm and Anna Hamm were injured due to an accident where their vehicle crashed with a truck.

Initial details given by authorities said that the incident happened at around 2:50 p.m. just west of town along US Highway 36.

According to officials, 38-year-old Stephanie Hamm and 63-year-old Anna Hamm were in a vehicle traveling along the highway. It appears their vehicle changed lanes to make a u-turn, but a semi-truck crashed into the back of their car.

As a result of the collision, both Stephanie and Anna Hamm were taken to the hospital. No further information about the accident is available at this time.

The initial details suggest that the victims' vehicle cut over into the path of the semi. If that's true, it could be an example of why I tell folks not to simply blame someone because they rear-ended someone. If a truck is just minding their own business and someone cuts them off, they may not have any chance of avoiding a collision. That said, it's important to take early details with a grain of salt. I've had many situations like this come to me where it turned out police only ever spoke with a trucking company rep, and the victims were taken to the hospital before they could tell their side of the story. Could it be that something like that happened here?
