Commentary on Juan Mejia Car Accident in Houston

Juan Mejia Injured in Car Accident in Houston, TX

I certainly can't speculate about the factors surrounding this crash without more thorough investigations. I know folks will likely assume alcohol was a factor given the time of the crash. That's certainly possible--in fact it's crucial to consider if a bar over-served someone and contributing to the crash, since that bar could then be liable for the victim's injuries under dram shop law. But what about other factors? Medical conditions, mechanical issues, poor lighting, lack of signage, hazardous road design--likely or not, getting folks the help they need means leaving no stone unturned. If authorities aren't being that prudent, there may need to be more thorough independent investigations.
