Commentary on Mai Thi Phuong Bui Car Accident in Deer Park

Considering the circumstances here, it stands out that only one person was hurt here, and they seem to be in the vehicle which 9 times out of 10 would suffer the least amount of damage. So what exactly happened here? Was it just a freak occurrence that injured this woman? Or, could there be extenuating circumstances to consider?

Mai Thi Phuong Bui Injured in Car Accident in Deer Park, TX

I recall a crash I was discussing with a colleague in which a woman was seriously hurt despite the circumstances surrounding the collision being relatively minor. When looked into more thoroughly, it came to light the woman had a defective airbag. In other words, it wasn't the crash itself that caused her harm but rather the manufacturing defect she was completely unaware of and which authorities initially overlooked.

Like I said, that's relatively unlikely, and maybe nothing like that happened here. But if it means getting someone the help they need, taking steps to find out if something went overlooked here could be a prudent step forward.
