Commentary on Car Hauler Accident on I-215 in Midvale
Reports paint a picture of a truck carelessly plowing into a column of slowed or stopped vehicles. That's unfortunately quite common, and after such crashes investigators often learn the big rig driver wasn't paying attention for one reason or another (fiddling with a radio, watching a phone or tablet, or even falling asleep). However, there are times where poor road conditions or sudden vehicle failures are behind these wrecks, which is why it's important to investigate the matter carefully and make no assumptions.
It's also crucial to find the clear facts because letting a trucking company get "creative" with what happened can have serious negative consequences for victims and their loved ones. Little as I like saying it, those companies are notorious for denying and deflecting liability as often as they can. They have a lot to lose and virtually all of them will fight like hell not to.
Cynical as that may sound, it's a truth I've learned from decades in this field. Anyone who might want to seek help from such a company after a wreck like the one in Midvale would be best served by taking the necessary action as soon as possible. More than likely the company will do the same, though with the goal of clearing its name and avoiding liability.
