Commentary on Truck Accident on I-78 in Lehigh County

All things considered it sounds a lot like two men minding their own business on the roadside were simply plowed into by a truck driver whose attention wandered from his task. Of course there's still a need for more investigation, as the truck might have left the road for reasons beyond the driver's control. If things are as preliminary reports say, though, some may feel there isn't much left to do except hold the truck driver (and by extension their employer) accountable for the damage done.

Here's the thing, though: Few if any accidents, and especially commercial ones, are really that simple. Trucking companies are infamous for stubbornly refusing liability if they see any sliver of hope they can escape or minimize it. They have a whole bag of tricks and strategies, honed by years of practice, to help them avoid admitting fault.
