Commentary on Bicycle, Truck Accident on Kansas Avenue in Topeka

Something that always concerns me with crashes like this is that people are quick to blame bicyclists. Bicyclists can certainly make mistakes, but jumping to conclusions isn't going to get people the help or the answers they deserve. Even authorities can make these mistakes. In fact, I often advocate for independent investigations precisely because authorities tend to let important details slip through the cracks. Could it be similar mistakes are happening here? If nothing else, steps to ensure the victim's loved ones get answers would be wise.
