Commentary on Heaven Marie Warner Truck Accident in Fort Worth

Something you'll see from people a lot is a defense of truck drivers saying that their bulky vehicles can't stop on a dime, take years of experience to drive properly, need more room to avoid objects, etc. This is all generally true. But that's why the law has a certain standard. How would that standard apply here?

Heaven Marie Warner Injured in Truck Accident in Fort Worth, TX

When a crash like this happens, evidence must answer whether or not a reasonably prudent professional would have been in the same crash. If evidence shows that a driver paying attention, going appropriate speeds, and following at an appropriate distance would have hit the victim's car, then it would be ridiculous to hold this truck driver accountable.

But if the evidence shows this was entirely avoidable, as it seemed to be for at least one other commercial vehicle, then it could be this tractor-trailer driver was doing something wrong. Is that something investigators have been looking into here?
