Commentary on Rollover Accident at I-27 & Washington in Amarillo

It's no doubt obvious to say investigators need to find out what happened here, but that's not always in reference to the crash alone. There can be other factors to consider, as well.

One possibility, for example, concerns one of the victims being ejected. That's usually the result of someone not wearing a seatbelt, but not always. Given how often authorities blame ejection on a lack of wearing a seatbelt, the numbers just don't add up when put next to research into how many people do wear their seatbelts.

That's because some seatbelts are defective and fail to work when needed most. Could it be something like that happened here? At the very least, it's one of many factors which authorities tend to overlook. It's likely best to ensure the crash is in the hands of more experienced professionals.
