Three Injured in Dual 18-wheeler Accident on County Road 162 in Jackson County, FL

Jackson County, FL -- August 29, 2022, three people were injured due to an accident where two 18-wheelers crashed on County Road 162.

Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 11:00 a.m. along County Road 162 at the intersection of Bumpnose Road.

It appears that one of the semi-trucks was going eastbound on CR-162. Ahead, another tractor-trailer was reportedly backing westbound onto Bumpnose road. This resulted in the first truck hitting the second one.

Due to the collision, both drivers and a passenger in the truck backing on the roadway sustained injuries said to be minor. No further information about the crash is available at this time.

Commentary on Dual Tractor-Trailer Accident on CR-162 in Jackson County

To be rather blunt, there are few scenarios where a tractor-trailer backs on or off a roadway where they aren't responsible for a resulting collision. Unless extensive measures were taken to warn traffic here, that could be true with this crash, as well. That said, there may be some silver lining if the injuries here truly were minor. But even that needs to be taken seriously.

Jackson County, FL Dual 18-wheeler Accident Injures 3 on CR-162

Not long ago, I handled a situation involving "minor" injuries. Days after the crash, though, a driver with a sore back could barely move to excruciating pain. Further tests revealed the crash ruptured a disk in his spine which required surgery (not to mention months of wrestling with insurance to get them to take responsibility).

We ultimately got that man the help he needed, but it was an arduous ordeal no one should have to go through alone. That's why I talk about the importance of taking truck wrecks seriously no matter how straight-forward things may seem. I see no reason why this crash would be an exception to that.
