Commentary on George Santos Car Accident in San Antonio

I'm certainly not going to try to speculate about the cause of a crash I don't have all the facts on. But a detail stuck out to me which I rarely see authorities address. Perhaps it needs to be looked into here.

What I noticed was how seriously injured one driver was while the other was supposedly fine. Given that the victim was in a pretty new vehicle and was on the opposite side of the collision, why were his injuries so serious?

Depending on speed, dumb luck, and other factors, this can certainly cause serious injuries. But sometimes evidence shows that safety devices either didn't work properly or simply weren't there when the manufacturer had no good reason to neglect their installation. Could it be this driver would have been fine had they been in another vehicle from a different manufacturer? Again, it's not for me to say, but it's important to look into these possible factors and ensure all possibilities are getting attention.
