Commentary on Round Rock Car/Van Accident

As investigators work to find out more about this crash and what caused it, they must look beyond the most common explanations (speeding, driver distraction, etc) and consider many other potential factors: Problems or defects in the vehicles, road conditions and design, visibility and sightlines, missing or unclear signage, bad weather, traffic patterns in the area, and many other things that could have influenced or even outright caused the wreck.

Unfortunately I've learned over the years that a "by-the-book" police investigation doesn't always dig deep enough to account for all those details. Incomplete or incorrect police reports can make serious problems if people seek answers or help after a wreck. That's why it's best that they know what investigators should look for, and then work with experts who will help them find the truth. Important as law enforcement is, their efforts aren't always enough to get that.
