According to reports the incident happened Sunday afternoon along US-290 near Kickapoo Road. Commentary on Omar Ramirez Accident on US-290 in Hockley

Right now it's not really clear how this unfortunate accident occurred. Presumably if the victims were pushing a vehicle off the highway it must have broken down somehow, but that doesn't really grant any insight about how or why a second vehicle crashed into them. If this really happened in the broad light of day, what kept the other vehicle from stopping or steering clear? Was the driver awake, alert, and paying attention? Were the victims pushing the car toward the shoulder or across the road to the other side for some reason?

That's only a few of the many lingering questions that need answers here to make sure the whole and true story is learned. Unfortunately I've found over the years that police sometimes only scratch the surface before finding a "good enough" story and closing the books. That can cause problems in a crash's aftermath if victims and families want answers and/or help, so it's best to know more about the kinds of things a prudent investigator will consider.
