Commentary on Chasidy Fuhrer, Nathan Cooper Truck Accident in Jasper

It's not my place to speculate on what caused this tragic accident, but there's something else which stands out to me. My concern is authorities may not be looking into something which ultimately took someone's life. The wreckage apparently became engulfed in flames due to the collision. Why was that, and was that the reason this accident was fatal?

Obviously, a propane truck could catch fire simply due to the cargo being hauled. Additionally, a collision serious enough may naturally cause a fire due to the amount of fluids that can spill due to the crash. However, there's another possibility to consider with commercial trucks: the fuel tanks were in an unnecessarily dangerous place.

An issue far too often overlooked with truck wrecks is negligent manufacturers who put fuel tanks in the most convenient spot rather than the safest spot. As a result, fires that could be avoided spark, and crashes that would otherwise be survivable turn fatal. Maybe nothing like that happened here, but it's important victims and families know they're getting the full story. Are those steps being taken here?
