Commentary on Motorcycle Accident on South Staples in Corpus Christi
I certainly have no specific reason to doubt these reports, but I can't help feeling skeptical anytime I see reports blaming a motorcyclist. Quite frankly, a lot of people are quick to do that just because they think motorcyclists are inherently reckless. There are certainly reckless bikers out there, but many are responsible and safe only to be hit by larger vehicles when those drivers fail to keep a proper lookout.
Maybe nothing like that happened here, but experience tells me victims deserve some benefit of the doubt until all the facts are clear. Getting those facts may require independent investigations that can guarantee there will be no unfair bias affecting their efforts.
