Italo Antequera Killed in Crash with Bull on US-50 in Marion County, KS

Marion County, KS — August 20, 2022, truck driver Italo Antequera died when his box truck collided with a bull on U.S. Highway 50 in Marion County.

Reports say the incident happened shortly before midnight on US-50 near Nighthawk Road. Preliminary investigation suggests Antequera was driving a box truck on the highway when he crashed under unknown circumstances with a full-grown bull. After the collision the truck ran off the road and crashed with a tree nearby, pinning Antequera inside.

Despite rescue efforts from responders, Antequera was pronounced dead at the scene. A member of the County Sheriff's Office euthanized the bull; investigators aren't yet sure how the bull escaped a nearby pasture.

The investigation continues. No further information is currently available.
