Commentary on Roy Howell Truck Accident in Walker County

It's not entirely clear what happened here, but any crash involving a commercial truck is going to present unique challenges. From distraction to medical conditions to mechanical defects, there are all kinds of possible factors investigators need to be able to handle. For that reason, I'd hesitate to approach a deadly truck wreck like this through the lens of a police investigation alone. They may not have the tools to catch certain details which more thorough independent investigators are better equipped to handle. Understanding why that is can be crucial after a tragedy like this.
