Motorcyclist Injured in Dump Truck Accident on Pulaski Highway in Elkton, MD

Elkton, MD -- August 24, 2022, one person was injured due to an accident where a motorcycle and a dump truck crashed on Pulaski Highway.

Authorities responded to the area at around 3:45 p.m. The cause of the crash remains unclear. It appears a motorcyclist and a dump truck somehow crossed paths and collided. The motorcyclist was airlifted from the scene with unspecified injuries. No further information about the crash is available at this time.

It's not clear what happened here, though that isn't so unusual after a serious truck wreck. My concern, though, is whether or not unbiased professionals are handling things. Unfortunately, a lot of people just assume motorcyclists are reckless, and even authorities can fall victim to this.

Not long ago, for example, I had to call out a police report for calling a motorcyclist reckless when the evidence we dug up completely contradicted their account. Had we not done that, a trucking company would have dodged consequences for their negligent driver's actions.

I'm not saying anything like that happened here, of course. My only point is that it is often best to have independent investigators look into a serious motorcycle crash like this to make sure the facts speak for themselves and that the victim gets the help they deserve.
