Commentary on Guadalupe Tiburcio Vargas Truck Accident in Cypress

These reports certainly seem straight-forward, but the wording in the reports sticks out to me. Authorities don't say that the Camaro ran the light or that there is video evidence or clear witness testimony. They simply say "it sounds like" that's what happened. Now, that could just be authorities being non-committal while investigations continue.

However, I've handled hundreds of commercial vehicle wrecks throughout my career. Sometimes, details like that are a sign authorities are really just guessing. It can also sometimes be a sign that someone blamed the victims, but the victims didn't get their opportunity to tell their side of the story before the details hit the news desk. Could it be something like that happened here? At the very least I'd say someone losing their life warrants every possible step to ensure nothing important slips through the cracks.
