Commentary on Fatal Truck Accident on I-5 in Tumwater

Authorities bringing up medical conditions or fatigue as possible factors is not all that unusual. Those are common factors in crashes like this. But are they looking into other possibilities? I too often see authorities overlook other possibilities simply because they seem unlikely. As a result, important details can slip through the cracks.

One possibility, for example, is mechanical issues. It's possible that the driver had no way of predicting or avoiding this tragic event. But it usually takes thorough independent investigations to consider that kind of thing. That's why it's important folks understand these alternative explanations. Getting a grieving family the answers they deserve should always be a priority after a deadly truck wreck like this.
