Commentary on Kassandra Marie Hernandez Truck Accident in Nueces County

This early in the morning, one of the key factors to look into would be visibility. While reports say the victims' vehicle had hazards on, that may not stop an insurance or trucking company from trying to paint their driver in the best light possible.

I had a family come to me about a similar situation. It was dark out, and a semi crashed into a disabled vehicle. The company said it was just too dark to see, considering how difficult it is to react in a commercial truck. But thanks to court orders, we obtained video footage from the truck. It revealed two shocking details. One was that the victim's car was clearly visible nearly three quarters of a mile down the road. The other was that the truck driver was busy watching shows on his tablet.

Maybe nothing so egregious happened here, but it goes to show why thorough investigations are so important. As they say, it's not about what you know; it's about what you can prove. Do the victims involved here have the tools and evidence to prove their side of the story?
