One Killed in Crossover Crash with Semi-Truck on Highway 12 near Newcastle, NE

Newcastle, NE — August 15, 2022, one person died in a crossover collision with a semi-truck on Highway 12 near Newcastle in Dixon County.

According to reports the incident happened shortly before 7:35 a.m. along Highway 12 near mile marker 220, around 3 miles west of town. Preliminary investigation suggests a Honda Civic was headed west on the highway when it collided with an eastbound semi-truck under unknown circumstances.

The Honda driver was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information is currently available.
