Lubbock, TX -- August 13, 2022, Dennis Gathungu was injured due to an accident where a car crashed and overturned.

Authorities reported that the crash took place at around 3:00 a.m. in the 3800 block of North Loop 289.

It appears that 27-year-old Dennis Gathungu was in a vehicle traveling along westbound lanes of the freeway. Authorities allege he had been involved in a previous accident and left the scene. Some time later, Gathungu's vehicle went off-road, hit a pole, and overturned.

Gathungu sustained fatal injuries said to be serious. Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable.
