Police often bring up alcohol just out of standard procedure. It is certainly important to consider since there could actually be a third party involved: an alcohol provider. But if investigations rule out alcohol, are authorities going to have the experience and tools to look into other possibilities? If not, getting folks the help they need may require more thorough independent investigations.
