Commentary on Joey Dee Hagedorn Truck Accident in Baker

It's important folks understand that early reports often tell only a portion of the larger story. Maybe nothing unusual happened here, but it's important to let the evidence speak for itself. As much as people may assume a driver is at fault for hitting a truck ahead of them, things aren't always so simple.

Not long ago, for example, there was a crash where authorities said someone failed to slow down and rear-ended an 18-wheeler. A few weeks later, though, investigators revealed the 18-wheeler had pulled onto the dark highway without turning its lights on. That pretty much turned the whole case on its head. I'm not saying that happened here, of course, but it's one reason why there should always be thorough independent investigations.
