Moped Driver Killed in Truck Accident on SR-32 in Boone County, IN

Boone County, IN -- August 10, 2022, a moped driver was killed after an accident with a semi-truck on State Road 32.

Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 32 and County Road 50 North.

According to officials, a moped driver and a semi-truck somehow crashed head-on. It's unclear at this time what led to the collision. Due to the crash, the moped driver sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Investigations are ongoing at this time.

I certainly can't say what happened here without more thorough investigations, but my concern is whether or not proper steps are being taken to actually investigate things thoroughly. Quite frankly, folks are quick to blame drivers of non-standard vehicles Mopeds, motorcycles, scooters, bicycles--people just assume they were being irresponsible. Maybe that happened here, but it's important investigators have the experience to put bias aside and let the facts speak for themselves.
