Commentary on Ricardo Sanchez Accident in Lubbock

After reading the few details the news was able to convey about this accident I have a feeling some people were ready to blame the rider for making a mistake--misjudging the turn, traveling too fast to complete it, not paying enough attention, or something similar. However, until investigators have a chance to learn more of the facts it's best not to jump to any such conclusions. It's still anyone's guess at this point how the motorcycle crashed and the rider was injured, and far too often people blame victims of motorcycle crashes for being reckless when there's actually more to the story.

Properly investigating a solo accident is more complex than people sometimes think, so it's important to spend the time and effort to learn the whole story. The truth should be found on principle, but also knowing exactly what happened may help the victim get help getting back on his feet.
