Commentary on Keilani Wolfe Hit-and-Run in Houston

It's hugely frustrating to see reports like this, and I'd imagine folks in Houston are sick of people hurting locals and then fleeing their responsibility. That's why in many cases community members provide useful information that helps police track down runaway drivers.

If law enforcement keeps any new details and developments in the public eye, someone will often use them to spot the suspect and/or their vehicle. Police may not have many details to offer yet about this specific hit-and-run, but hopefully further investigation will find traffic camera footage, witnesses, or even debris with trackable serial numbers that will help them narrow the search. Providing that information to the public will help someone--a friend, family member, coworker, or even just a stranger--identify the vehicle and call a tip line.

When (and I say when, not if) the driver is located, hopefully police can find out more about why they ran and what can be done for the victim's loved ones. I remain hopeful continued efforts will lead to a resolution for this tragic event.
