Commentary on Truck Rollover Accident on I-25 in Douglas County

Something I try to remind people about frequently is that investigating the cause of a crash isn't just challenging, it's also just one piece of the puzzle. There can be other complex factors investigators need the right tools and training to handle. For example, with a rollover like this, how much of the truck driver's injuries were due to the crash itself, and how much of it was due to the truck not being built properly?

The trucking industry has a serious issue with the construction of its vehicles. Put simply, they tend to crumble far too easily under their own weight, making rollovers far more serious than they need to be. Despite being reasonably able to fix this issue, many manufacturer continue to neglect these changes, putting hard working drivers everywhere in serious danger. Could it be something like that happened here?

That's just one possible factor involved here, but it's an important one to learn about. Click the image below for a more in-depth look at problems surrounding truck rollovers.
