Commentary on Car Accident on Avenue Q in Lubbock

This late at night, especially in a college town like Lubbock, folks may be quick to assume this was alcohol-related. That's certainly common, and it could even mean a local establishment is liable for the resulting injuries under dram shop law due to illegally over-serving the driver. But does that mean we can just overlook other possibilities? Of course not.

Common or not, there are many factors that can lead to single-vehicle wrecks. As likely as driver error is, it's important to consider other possibilities to ensure nothing important slips through the cracks. This is something I talk about all the time, though folks are still quick to make judgments without knowing all the facts. Hopefully steps are taken here to make sure those involved get the benefit of the doubt until the details are clear.

The article below can help shed light on what more there could be to this situation and what it can mean for the victims and families.
