Commentary on Pottsboro Man ATV Accident on Hacienda Drive in Grayson County

Anytime alcohol comes up, it's obviously concerning. But part of that concern needs to be with dram shop law. Essentially, the law says that an alcohol provider who over-serves an obviously intoxicated person can be liable for damages resulting from that intoxication. This can get people much needed help while also ensuring a negligent alcohol provider is held accountable for their actions.

Maybe something like that happened here, though it is also possible alcohol was not a factor at all. I find authorities are often quick to ignore other possible factors when they think something more obvious happened. Were steps at least taken here to give the victim some benefit of the doubt? Those steps could show there is more to this story than initial reports let on.
