Commentary on Eduardo Lozoya 18-wheeler Accident in Winkler County

These are obviously serious claims, and I certainly don't have reason to doubt them specifically. However, I always encourage more thorough independent accident reconstructions if only to ensure families are getting the full story. Otherwise, something important could slip through the cracks.

Not long ago, for example, a family came to me about a crash with similar reports. Their loved one reportedly went across the center line and hit a semi. But when we actually had experienced accident reconstructionists look into things, a completely different story came to light.

It turned out that the semi initially crossed the center line, causing the victim to swerve left in an attempt to avoid it. The truck then veered back into its original lane where the vehicles collided. The officer in charge was simply inexperienced, lacked proper equipment, and made an assumption based on his initial findings. Had there not been more thorough investigations, who knows if the family ver would have learned the truth.

Again, I'm not saying that happened here. It's simply important to take early reports with a grain of salt for now. More thorough efforts to have professionals look into why this tragic event happened will no doubt bring the whole story to light, whatever that may be.
