Motorcyclist Injured in Crash with Truck on Prairieburg Rd in Linn County, IA

Linn County, IA — July 26, 2022, a motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a flatbed truck at an intersection in Linn County.

According to reports the incident happened shortly before 9:00 a.m. at the crossing of Prairieburg Road and Monticello Road. Preliminary investigation suggests the 30-year-old driver of a flatbed truck failed to stop at the intersection and pulled into the path of an oncoming Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The rider laid the bike down in an effort to avoid the truck but it hit the front bumper and tire, after which the motorcycle slid into a ditch.

The rider was treated for reported non-life-threatening injuries at the scene and was taken to an area hospital. The truck driver was unhurt and was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
