Commentary on Elena Perez Truck Accident in Laredo
When folks read about a rear-ended collision, they tend to just assume that everything is completely open-and-shut. In reality, getting folks the answers they need can be incredibly challenging without the right experience and equipment.

For one, even obvious factors can lie behind numerous barriers put up by those looking to avoid responsibility. I had a case not long, for example, where a company claimed their driver didn't own a cell phone, and we had to catch the driver in his own lies during a lengthy deposition to ultimately get a court order for the records.
Secondly, these incidents sometimes involve not-so-obvious factors. Was the driver trained properly? Were they coerced into reckless behavior through bad business practices? Is the truck properly maintained? Was there a cargo shift? Did something unusual like a mechanical defect lead to the crash? Likely or not, ensuring victims and families have all the facts is crucial in getting them the help they need. I see no reason to consider this accident an exception to that.
