Commentary on Tractor-Trailer Accident on Highway 79 in Pee Dee

It isn't clear what happened here, but a tractor-trailer colliding with an oncoming vehicle usually means someone crossed over or attempted to make a left turn. As simple as that may sound, even the authorities may not be able to sort things out on their own. These scenes can be incredibly chaotic, and lacking the proper tools and experience to sort through things means important details may slip through the cracks.

Take for example a situation I handled a while back where police said someone went across the center line and hit an 18-wheeler. Once we started digging, the evidence actually showed the opposite occurred. It's simply that the car ended up in the 18-wheeler's original lane trying to avoid the semi, but the truck veered back to the right and hit the car.

A family almost had no idea what really happened to their loved one, and they were even told it was their fault even though it wasn't. I'm not saying mistakes like that are going to happen here, but that's what can happen when steps aren't taken to ensure the right professionals are looking into a deadly truck wreck. Are efforts being made here to get the right people to look into what led to this tragic event?
