Commentary on Janel Ann Szigeti 18-wheeler Accident in Killeen

There are a lot of details that need attention in a crash like this, but it stands out to me that reports say a vehicle stopped in a lane of travel to help the 18-wheeler driver. Is that really what happened? If an 18-wheeler pulled onto the shoulder for mechanical issues, why would someone stop in the lane of travel? Wouldn't they stop on the shoulder behind or in front of the truck?

It makes me wonder if the 18-wheeler was sticking out in the lane, and that's why the other driver stopped there. I'm sure there is an explanation for all this the authorities simply haven't found yet, and I certainly am not suggesting investigators ignore why the other vehicle hit the truck and the stationary vehicle. I just know how important it is for folks to understand all of the factors that can contribute to a serious truck wreck. That way, they can take steps to ensure the right professionals are looking into the details as soon as possible.
