Anytime alcohol comes up, it's important to take that possibility seriously. Beyond the typical consequences most folks understand, there can also be consequences for a local business in the form of being held liable for the resulting injuries. Why is that? Well, Texas dram shop law says bars can be responsible if they illegally over-serve someone and it leads to an accident.

Maybe that happened here, but it's also important to consider other possible factors. I find too often that folks immediately jump to blame motorcyclists just because they assume the rider was being reckless. If further investigations showed police missed the mark here, it wouldn't be the first time. Maybe alcohol was involved, maybe it wasn't. I can't say one way or the other, but I know from experience how crucial it is to gather evidence and let the facts speak for themselves. Getting folks the help they need all but demands it.
