Commentary on Rollover Accident on I-95 in Miami-Dade

Something that stands out to me in photos of the wreckage is that the roof seems pretty intact. Why does this matter? Well, a rollover serious enough to crush a vehicle is often fatal, since airbags and seatbelts don't really help a roof caving in. But these photos make me wonder if the result of this crash was more serious than the crash itself.

For example, are authorities investigating how the fire started? This can be the natural result of parts breaking and fluids leaking, but sometimes it's a vehicle failing in a way it shouldn't, causing a fatal fire after a crash which could otherwise be survivable. Alternatively, if there is evidence the victim had their seatbelt on, but they were thrown inside or out of the vehicle, could it be that the seatbelt or the seat assembly itself had a defect?

These things aren't all that common, but they have caused fatalities in the past. For that reason, and in the interest of getting people the answers they deserve, are steps being taken to consider these possibilities?
