Three Injured in Crash with Semi-Truck at IN-5 and US-30 in Whitley County

Whitley County, IN — July 21, 2022, three people were injured when a car crashed with a semi-truck on State Route 5 in Whitley County.

According to reports the incident happened around 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of Route 5 and U.S. Highway 30. Preliminary investigation suggests an eastbound car ran a red light and collided with a semi-truck in the crossroads.

One person in the car was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Two other people in the car were seriously injured. The driver of the semi was unhurt.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
