Truck Driver Killed in Fiery Crash off I-80 in Pocono Township, PA

Pocono Township, PA — July 21, 2022, a truck driver died after their big rig left Interstate 80 and crashed into the woods in Pocono Township.

According to reports the incident happened Thursday night along I-80 near mile marker 294.2. Preliminary investigation suggests only that the tractor-trailer was headed west on the highway when the driver lost control for unknown reasons. The truck swerved off the road into the nearby woods and caught fire.

The truck driver suffered fatal injuries in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information is currently available.

Clearly this is a tragic incident, but one detail that sticks out in particular to me is that the truck caught fire.
