Darryl Mclucas Injured in Semi-Trailer Accident in Henry County, IN

Henry County, IN -- July 15, 2022, Darryl Mclucas was injured due to an accident where a tractor-trailer crashed off an I-70 overpass.

Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 7:00 a.m. along I-70 near Wilbur Wright Road.

Initial reports said that Darryl Mclucas was the driver of a tractor-trailer which was traveling along the interstate. It appears another semi may have made an unsafe lane change, and Mclucas then swerved to avoid it. This caused Mclucas's truck to go over the median and down an embankment.

Reports said Mclucas was airlifted from the scene, but his condition was not specified. No further information about the crash is available at this time.

Commentary on Darryl Mclucas Tractor-trailer Accident in Henry County

There isn't a ton of information about this crash. It's not even clear if this other supposed truck stuck around at the scene nor whether or not authorities believe there are charges pending. It makes me wonder if this is getting the attention it deserves.

I often find folks don't think much about crashes where the victims were in a commercial. They just assume the companies are going to hash things out or workers' comp will cover things. Well, workers' comp doesn't always live up to the needs of victims and their families, and companies really only hash out who's taking the blame. The victims tend to get lost in the shuffle, which is why it's important to understand how the law gives them the tools to tell their side of the story.

The sooner independent investigations cover a crash like this, the more information victims and families can use to ensure their voice is heard over all the noise. Whether or not those steps were taken here remains to be seen.
