Covington, LA -- July 15, 2022, Shane Young was killed due to an accident where a semi-truck and a car collided head-on.

Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 1:35 p.m. along Highway 437 near Highway 40.

Officials said that 48-year-old Shane Young was in a car traveling northbound on Highway 437. It appears the car entered southbound lanes where it crashed head-on with an oncoming semi.

Due to the collision, Young sustained fatal injuries. Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable.

I had this crash a while back, for example, where someone reportedly went across the center line and hit a truck head-on. When we actually looked into things, however, the evidence told a different story. It turned out the truck initially crossed over, and the victim swerved left to avoid it. The truck then veered back into its original lane where the vehicles collided.

To be clear, I'm not at all saying that happened here. My point is that details can easily slip through the cracks if authorities don't dedicate the time and resources needed for something as complex as a commercial truck wreck. Are steps being taken here to make sure the victim's loved ones are getting the answers they deserve?
