Commentary on Car Accident at Guadalupe and Cedar in Laredo

Right now it's not clear what happened here. To make sure the crash is understood and the victim has all the available facts, it's best that a careful and thorough investigation take place. That means someone needs to answer many lingering questions.

For instance: How fast were the vehicles traveling? How did they collide in the intersection? Did one driver fail to yield to the other? That intersection is light-controlled, so did someone run a red? If so, why? Did they just think they could beat it, or did they not realize it was red? Were they awake, alert, and paying attention? Is it possible someone was intoxicated? Why did the second driver refuse medical attention if EMTs thought they needed it?

That's just a few of the many points that need to be clarified. The victim deserves all the answers she can get, and if she deserves help with her recovery from one source or another then those answers will be vital in making sure she gets it. Will police be thorough enough to learn the whole story, or would an independent investigator working on her behalf get better results?
