Commentary on Krislaniel Zapata Figueroa Car Accident in El Paso

Police often bring up alcohol after crashes like this. It's certainly important to consider, and it could even mean there's a local alcohol provider liable for all of this if they illegally over-served the driver. I wouldn't suggest overlooking that possibility.

But if further investigations showed police were wrong, and other factors led to this crash, it wouldn't be the first time. It's why I tell folks that it's best to focus on what steps can be taken to help the victims. Simply taking reports at face value and throwing blame around isn't going to get people the help they need. It remains to be seen, then, what more thorough investigations would reveal about this accident.
